Alicia Zemanek has been awarded & featured internationally in France, Italy, Luxembourg and the USA with collectors based in Europe and North America.
Zemanek artistic signature is in the richness of the colors turning her artworks into pieces of jewellery. This is obtained by using traditional Old Masters techniques. The darks are intensified and luminous through several layers of glaze while the impasto provides the strong highlights, brilliance, structure, and strong color contrast.

Inspired by her Mediterranean culture, her original works of art integrate the colorful richness of Mediterranean mosaics, decorative arabesques, printed fabrics from the Near and Middle East and mastery of Russian art.
Her mission is to make the viewer feel the richness and light of the painting of the old orientalist masters through a modern painting.

Eastern and Western inspirations
My art is deeply influenced by my multiple origins. I was born in 1963 in the UK, after my parents left Egypt during the Suez crisis. I am a Czech, Venetian, French and Ottoman mestizo. I spent 40 years in Montreal and 18 years in Luxembourg. In 2011, I bought a house in the Florida Keys, which I call my "Happy Place.
