Collection KeyWest

The KeyWest Collection is my love letter to the Florida Keys— our holiday place for fourteen years. In this collection, memory and shoreline blur: the heat of noon, the hum of mangroves, the hush of a horizon that never quite holds still. The work is grounded in my origins—East and West in dialogue—and animated by my enduring affection for Mediterranean culture. Ornamental arabesques thread through the compositions, infusing them with a distinctly Moorish character, while fields of glitter and highly saturated color invite a sensual, almost celebratory encounter.

 

Technically, I build the surfaces with glazes—layer upon layer—to deepen hue the way classical masters pursued luminosity. Yet the spirit is contemporary: I loosen the grip of value contrasts to let color do the dazzling. In this collection, color is not a complement but the subject itself—radiant, immersive, and alive—carrying the tide of a place that shaped me and the rhythms of two worlds that continue to meet within my work.
